Quick Tips
The first thing I inevitably hear from a new student is "how can I get faster." I have seen many different girls of all sizes and
shapes pitch. I believe there are some factors that are very important but, your physical make up and if you have what I call a
"live arm" might be things you can't control. Every girl will not be able to throw a 60 mph fastball. You are born with certain
abilities. With that in mind let's look at what you can change!!!
3 Main Points
- Proper Mechanics - A Strong push of the pitching plate, a complete arm circle in the open
position, a balanced landing, proper wrist snap, release point, follow through and resistance
are big factors.
- Drills - Drills designed to strengthen, reinforce proper mechanics & push to the next level is
another key. You must push yourself beyond the last time you practiced or your going
backwards.
- Practice, Practice, Practice - You must put to work what you have learned. Practice correct
mechanics and it will become muscle memory and then you can work on advanced pitches.
